Keystone XL — Americans are divided

Dozens of national and regional groups have been fighting the Keystone XL pipeline, saying it could contaminate groundwater and will ratchet up carbon emissions, hastening climate change. But the general public may not feel the same. A recent poll showed most still believe the pipeline will create “significant” jobs and help provide oil to the US.

Keystone XL protest reveals discontent with a carbon-heavy future

Trouble for Keystone XL pipeline in Nebraska

A judge has overturned a law approving passage for the Keystone XL pipeline through Nebraska, saying that Gov. John Heineman overstepped his authority in the case when he granted permission in Jan. 2013 for a new pipeline route through the state.

US wolves: Facing bullets and a hail of bureacracy

U.S. wolves got a reprieve this week, though only a tiny one, when the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service extended the comment period on its proposal to remove protections for nearly all US wolves. Meanwhile, the gunfire thundered across the Northern Rocky Mountains where hunters are killing wolves no longer listed as endangered.
