As if eggs aren’t confusing enough, with their many labels, many of which (natural) mean nothing. Organic chickens apparently aren’t everything you’d hoped they’d be either. You may have already heard how large Organic-certified broiler operations fudge on the sunlight and movement requirements for their poultry, providing teeny doors that one chicken among hundreds may never find, and outdoor ledges that seem equally inadequate to the task.

CDC: Animals fed antibiotics are creating super bugs that claim human lives

Chipotle founder testifies about antibiotic-free meat

Chipotle, the burrito and taco restaurant chain that has cut against the fast food grain with its adherence to serving natural, sustainbly raised meat, got its day in the Washington limelight yesterday.

The chain’s founder, chairman and Co-CEO Steve Ells told a U.S. House committee that while it hasn’t been easy to keep consumer prices reasonable while serving pricier sustainable meats, he felt it preserved the restaurant chain’s integrity.
