Some Football Teams Go Deep For The Environment

January 18th, 2008

The St. Louis Rams partnered with Waste Management of St. Louis last month (Drams.gifecember ’07) in an environmental stewardship program that will educate fans. The program includes printing Rams season tickets on recycled paper, day-of-game recycling services as well as the opportunity to buy renewable energy certificates. In exchange, the Rams will use Waste Management logos on stadium signs, recycling bins and on the scoreboard during game highlights.

The New York Jets plan to open new LEED-certified headquarters this year (2008). The $50 million structure, which will also include their training facility, will extend over 26 acres and include a 120,000 square foot building.
