What’cowboy-charcoal.jpgs a picnic or cookout without a couple of things tossed on the grill? But most of us can do without that pungent smell of petroleum-based starter fluid. Ecoflame sells a petroleum-free quick lighting gel made from natural sugar cane alcohol that burns odor free.

  • Blankets

Can’t find an appropriate picnic blanket, or our old one is worn out? You can find an array of blankets and rugs made from recycled soda bottles and milk containers, such as these blankets from online retailer Blue Lotus Sustainable Goods or this rug (perfect for later use on the porch) available from the National Geographic store.

Have fun!
