Ten ways to celebrate Earth Day with (or without) kids

April 15th, 2009

5 – Take a nature “trip” with Disneynature’s new film EARTH

It opens in theaters on April 22. This beautifully filmed movie follows three animal families -  polar bears, whales and elephants – for a year as they face challenges surviving in today’s world. It was filmed by British producer/director Alastair Fothergill who directed the Peabody award-winning Planet Earth series, which aired on the BBC and The Discovery Channel, and also was the filmmaker behind The Blue Planet.

James Earl Jones will narrate this family narrative which promises to treat audiences to unprecedented footage of wildlife showing “intimate moments of our planet’s wildest and most elusive creatures.”

To get moviegoers out right away, Disneynature has pledged to plant a tree in the endangered Brazilian Atlantic Rainforest for every person who sees EARTH during its opening week.
