The special patients at the Dell Medical Center, the children, infused the design of the facility. What are
designer Alan Bell’s favorite parts of the hospital? “The building does not feel or smell like a hospital. The building is always very fresh, like the outside air. There is a huge connection to the outside via windows and daylighting. There are no scary back corridors like a kid might think of at other hospitals.”
For more detailed additional information on how hospitals can become more environmentally friendly and efficient, see the report Addressing Climate Change in the Health Care Setting on the Health Care Without Harm web site.
