From Green Right Now Reports

Miss America Pageant contestants have been known to be green with envy when the winner is announced, but how green are they the rest of the time?

The Web TV portal is running a contest to determine which Miss America contender best embodies the notion of “Green is Gorgeous.” Host Tamara Henry has interviewed all 53 contestants about what “being green” means to them. Voters can check out the answers by using an interactive map.

Voting continues until Jan. 30. The Miss America Pageant airs on TLC that same night. GreenTwithTamara.TV will announce the winner from the site of the Miss America Pageant at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

A former Miss Arkansas contestant, Henry used the scholarship she won to earn her bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism, leading to an early career as a WB and Fox evening news reporter producing health and medical segments.

“The 2010 Miss America contestants have embraced their passion for green issues whether it be clean air, clean fuel, or clean water by personally taking their own steps to help conserve resources, recycle and reuse materials in their own lives,” Henry says. “I think people will find the interviews fun, creative, educational and inspiring.”

The winner will receive a collection of eco-friendly fashions, gifts and other prizes.
