Austin’s Sustainable Food Center will hold its fourth annual Farm-to-Plate fundraiser featuring more than 20 top Central Texas chefs on May 12.
The event will feature locally grown and produced food, prepared by chefs known for their commitment to sourcing nearby ingredients. The “sip and stroll” event will begin at the historic Barr Mansion, which is a top-level sponsor of the event along with the Wheatsville Food Co-op.
Ticket sales for the benefit begin March 1 at the Sustainable Food Center’s website.
Individual tickets are $100 (but $85 for early bird sales through the first two weeks of March). Tables of ten are $1,000 (or $850 for first two weeks of March).
The 2011 featured chefs are David Bull of Congress; Jesse Griffiths of Dai Due and James Holmes of Olivia.
More chefs, participating breweries, wineries and spirits makers will be announced later.

The Sustainable Food Center is a non-profit that promotes strong local food networks, sustainability and food security for everyone. The organization provides training to community gardeners, cooking classes and other events.
