(Springerville, AZ) — Firefighters are declaring the massive Wallow fire in Arizona 20-percent contained.
At nearly 470,000 acres, the Wallow blaze is now the largest wildfire in Grand Canyon state history.
The communities of Greer, Nutrioso and Alpine are still completely evacuated due to fire danger along with hazards from burned-out trees and power poles.
Several other areas are on a Pre-Evacuation alert with residents ready to abandon homes and businesses if they're ordered to.
The Wallow fire surpassed Arizona's previous record holder, the 2002 Rodeo Chediski fire on Tuesday.
The Wallow blaze has destroyed more than 30 homes, seven minor injuries have been reported.
