Live Earth brings with it much more, including six short films from the Live Earth Film Series that succinctly frame some of the issues we face. Director Rupert Jones’ What Does It Take to Change a Habit? humorously depicts a shopkeeper and a customer as they “educate” each other on how to make better, greener decisions. In Out of Sight, director Richard Carroll shows us sobering images from a place we may have seen from a distance but rarely visit: that landfill on the horizon – Mt. Trash. There’s probably one near your town.
Inside the set is a booklet with tips on how we all can help solve the climate crisis. You’re even invited to still sign the Live Earth Pledge. And net proceeds from sales of Live Earth will go to benefit the Alliance for Climate Protection, whose mission “is to persuade the public about the importance and urgency of adopting and implementing effective and comprehensive solutions for the climate crisis.”
So in this season of hyperactive consumption, it’s worth noting that a copy of Live Earth along with a package of CFLs makes a great gift. For more info on the concert and those involved see the Live Earth website.
