The kids started a recycling program by placing bins in each classroom, teacher workroom, library and lunchroom. They also have a fundraising drive in which they collect eyeglasses for one of the church’s inner city ministries; and they collect cell phones that can be exchanged for calling cards which they give to American soldiers serving overseas.
The church’s green attitude is reflected in the classes that are held for adult members on energy efficiency at home.
“People are looking for answers, solutions,” says Buster. “Not only to curb their own spending at home, but they also want to do the right thing.
“God created the earth and left us in charge and we want to be good stewards of it all.”
