When planning a cruise, make sure to set sail with an environmentally friendly cruise ship. Since the ships are like floating cities, make sure the cruise you take is not damaging the water that it floats in.

Green up back-to-school supplies with our Earth-friendly shopping list

July 23rd, 2010

Students need all matter of paper products for school: legal pads, notebooks, composition books, sticky notes, etc. Greenline Paper Company has Stik With It pads, made of 100 percent post-consumer recycled material and no chlorine. They’re only sold in 12-packs, $10.95 (above).

Eco-jot offers colorful, practical, earth-friendly notepads, notebooks, workbooks and sketchbooks. We found an assortment at Journals and Books, including a notebook that touts its greenness, 5-by-7 inch, spiral-bound, 150 pages for $8.95.

Our fave – Ecopaper’s Dalai Lama eco-friendly journal (below). A tree-free product (banana paper made from agricultural waste), the 8½-by-11 inch journal has 80 sheets, costs $8 and exudes lovingkindness.
